The Food On My Plate

I don’t want the food on my plate to get corrupted.
All the constraints of farmer’s exploitation have erupted!
The moral behind words like Jay Javan Jay Kisan has merely gone in vain;
Why can’t they comprehend our green soldier’s intolerable pain?

In an agriculture-based country, food producers are on a hunger strike.
The number of dead farmers is unceasingly achieving a great hike!
From Rail Roko to Dilli Chalo, they have attempted several ways;
But the government has turned a deaf ear to all their says.

The farmers served us food and got latthis in return;
Delhi welcomed them with water cannons and tear gas, so stern!
Even after facing all this, they didn’t raise any unrest.
These misguided people are incredibly peaceful at their protest!

Government is trying to eliminate the middleman custom;
But the farmers know how indispensable they are for the agro system.
The minimum support price is what the definite salary of growers is.
Corporate cultivation’s consequences are just uncertainties!

The religion no more divides us, but our political opinions do.
Some are being called bhakts others are anti-nationally skewed.
Media is no more truth speaker but right-wing’s propagandist.
The people in power are just well masked and finely couched bandits.

The farm acts include everything except farmer’s consultation.
Creating a business out of agriculture will only lead to agrarian’s aggravation.
Rounds and rounds of discussions with the lawmakers but no solution;
It seems democracy is turning into monarchical administration!

These power-hungry people are just busy making money;
Want to leave farmers with nothing but corporate’s mercy.
The small farmers will get crushed under the giant capitalist’s foot.
Soon, this wave will turn all of us into soot!
